The plant operates 24/5 with 3 x 8.5 hour shifts on a 2 week rotation. This is a site based role and you must be prepared to live in, or relocate to, the town of Parkes in NSW.
The Opportunity
To ensure a consistently high quality of product, there is a strong focus on practical quality steps at all stages of the manufacturing process. The QA Officer will work in the plant to sample and test raw materials, in process and finished product, and packaging materials. In addition, they will be involved in environmental monitoring, water sampling and in factory hygiene checks.
Key accountabilities include:
Collect and submit samples for laboratory analysis to in-house and 3rd party laboratory for microbiological, chemical, and nutritional analysis.
Conduct pre-op inspections and environmental swabs to ensure the cleanliness of processing area.
Accurately document QA processes and test/sample results and maintain recordkeeping in accordance with established laboratory requirements.
Hygiene monitoring
Develop awareness and understanding of corporate policies, practices, and procedures related to Food Safety and HACCP.
Collect, monitor, and report on customer complaints and corrective action progress.
Above all else, you will be reliable, self-motivated and a great team member. In addition, the successful applicant will need to address the following criteria:
Degree qualification in science, food technology or related discipline
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a regulated manufacturing environment
Experience conducting in-process laboratory testing
Experience in preparation of standard operating procedures and quality assurance documentation
A high level of attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Sound computer literacy
Ability to follow written procedures
Excellent communication skills.
