Position Overview:
The Accountant will play a vital role in providing accurate and timely financial information to our clients, supporting their business decision-making process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, taxation regulations, and business advisory practices. They will be responsible for managing financial statements, tax returns, and offering strategic business advice. The role demands excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Manage tax compliance, including the preparation and submission of tax returns (BAS, GST, PAYG).
Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to help clients make informed business decisions.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for clients.
Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and tax laws.
Reconcile accounts, manage ledgers, and ensure accurate bookkeeping.
Provide business advisory services, including cash flow management and growth strategies.
Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand their financial needs and provide tailored solutions.
Support the senior accounting team in preparing audit files and liaising with external auditors.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant financial regulations and ensure company practices are in line with legal requirements.
Requirements:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification preferred.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within a public practice.
Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws and financial regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Ability to manage multiple clients and meet tight deadlines.
