FULL-TIME ORCHARD WORKERS / FRUIT PICKERS WANTED for The Trustee of the Casotti Enterprise Trust.
20 Full-time, Permanent positions available for our harvest season. Applicants are available to start from November 2024.
Full-time fruit picking and general farm operation positions available at various orchards in Western
Australia’s southern region (Donnybrook, Mullalyup, & Manjimup). This is a variable role, which could
include working across several elements on the farm. You will be working on an hourly rate, hourly work is paid at the current minimum rate for Full-time work under the Horticulture Award 2020 Orchard Worker - Level 1 Full-time employee Horticulture Award 2020 (MA000028). Positions are permanent and available for 4 years. You will be guaranteed a minimum of 38hrs per week, and have the right to accrue holiday and sick leave. You may be required to work weekends in which will be rewarded in accordance with the Horticulture Award 2020 (MA000028). Standard days of operation are Mon-Fri 7am - 3pm.
Work will be available to commence from November 2024.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Planting, mulching and mowing
• Picking fruit without damaging plants
• Pruning crops to ensure maximum growth
• Using fertilizers
• Applying pesticides
• Constructing trellises
• Assisting with building and maintaining fences
• Weeding
• Alerting the orchard manager of equipment breakdowns
• Cleaning, packing, and loading harvests
You will have the continuous chance to upskill and learn throughout this position over time. Individuals will be given the opportunity to become team leaders over the season. Training is provided upon commencing your role and throughout your length of employment.
This is physically demanding work; you must be physically fit and able to bend and stretch without any
problems. You will be required to work mostly outside and need to be prepared for all weather
conditions. There is no on-site accommodation provided. Successful applicants must arrange their own
accommodation and transport.
