JDA Hotels have an exciting opportunity available at Great Southern Hotel for an experienced Restaurant Manager.
This venue offers exceptional quality pub food, beverages and entertainment activities. ABOUT THE ROLE
The role vacant involves organising and co-ordinating the operations of the bistro/restaurant to provide dining, catering and function activities. This will entail ensuring appropriate coverage of staff who will service organised group functions, ensuring staff deliver superior customer service that is both professional and timely. The Hotel Restaurant Manager will work in line with the Company's Policies and Procedures, licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.
Responsibilities will include:
- Front of House emphasis with kitchen liaison, with the ability to plan and resource people and products.
- Exceptional guest service skills with a proactive/forward thinking attitude towards the needs of the patrons.
- Maintaining a high standard of service to all patrons, while ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.
- Direct liaison with patrons, function organisers, suppliers, Hotel Licensee, Head Chef and the kitchen team.
- Work with the Head Chef on the planning of menus and functions menu offering.
- Assisting with maintaining records of stock levels.
- Welcoming hotel guests to dining areas and the introduction to the Hotels menu.
- Conduct regular floor checks of the bistro/restaurant to maintain its superior presentation and cleanliness.
- Assist in the training of restaurant staff ensuring they are up-to-date with the menu, specials of the day, ingredients in dishes enabling them to assist patrons with food selections.
- Carrying out of cashiering/reconciliation of the bistro/restaurants cash register; in line with cash handling procedures.
- Monitor bistro/restaurants daily operations including the handling of customer queries.
- Abreast of current hotel promotions.
- Work in accordance with the venues OH&S policy.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- The right candidate must have strong communication skills and excellent customer service focus, energetic and friendly whilst being professionally presented and groomed at all times.
- Should have three (3) years minimum experience in the same or a similar role is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of seasonal foods, flavours, ingredients in dishes etc.
- Strong people, organisational and time management skills.
- Must be able to articulate clear instructions, set expectations and consistent approach delivering high standards, whilst encouraging and promoting a harmonious team environment.
- A candidate with experience in successfully managing functions would be looked upon favourably.
- Be willing to take responsibility and accountability for all restaurant activities.
- Ability to mentor and train restaurant staff.
