Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced and qualified Steel Fixer to join the AWCON’s team in Orange, NSW. As a steel fixer, you will be responsible for measurement, cutting, bending, and installation of welded wire mesh in concrete sections designated for reinforcement.
Key Responsibilities:
-Interpret plans and specifications by reading and understanding project requirements.
-Prepare the work site, ensuring it is clean and free from obstructions and hazards.
-Cut and bend steel rods according to the dimensions specified in the plans.
-Place and secure steel reinforcements in concrete structures, such as columns, beams, and slabs.
-Utilize appropriate hand and power tools for steel work, such as cutters, benders, and welders.
-Verify that the steel fixing work meets quality standards and safety specifications.
-Be willing to work on international projects, following the guidelines and procedures established by the company.
Requirements:
-Hold a certificate or higher in Steel Fixing or a related field (substantial relevant experience may be accepted in place of formal qualifications).
-Have at least 3 years of experience in steel fixing.
-Exhibit strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, approaching problems with a logical mindset.
-Proficient in using power tools and site equipment.
-Be organized, maintain a positive attitude, and demonstrate a willingness to learn.
-Be honest and align personally with AWCON’s Core Values, committing to applying these values in all work and business activities.
-Possess strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
