Isle Holdings Pty Ltd. are currently seeking experienced Fishing Hands and Ship's Engineers to work on a fishing vessel located in Shark Bay WA for the season.
Fishing Hands
Experience Required:
• Demonstrated experience in catching fish and crustacea using pots, nets, trawls and traps
• Handling ropes and wires, and operating mooring equipment when berthing and unberthing
• Knowledge and experience in deploying and retrieving of pots, trawls, and traps
• Demonstrated experience with assembly and repairs of fishing gear and application of various fishing techniques
• Solid understanding of OHS on board a vessel & basic emergency procedure
• Standing lookout watches at sea and adjusting the ship's course as directed
• Assisting with cargo operations using on-board equipment and stowing and securing cargo
• Load and unload vessel equipment and supplies, by hand or using hoisting equipment.
• Performing routine maintenance and checks on deck equipment, cargo gear, rigging, and lifesaving and firefighting appliances
• Wash decks, conveyors, knives, and other equipment.
• Understand techniques used in fishing operations.
• Attaching gear and related fishing equipment.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience working in a similar role within the fishing industry working on prawn trawlers
Required Qualifications:
• Certificate II or III in Fishing Operations
• Apply Basic First Aid
Ships Engineers
Experience Required:
• Maintain and repair engines, electric motors, pumps, winches and other mechanical and electrical equipment, or assist other crew members with maintenance and repair duties.
• Maintain electrical power, heating, ventilation, refrigeration, water, and sewerage systems.
• Monitor and test operations of engines and other equipment so that malfunctions and their causes can be identified.
• Monitor engine, machinery, and equipment indicators when vessels are underway, and report abnormalities to appropriate shipboard staff.
• Perform general marine vessel maintenance and repair work such as repairing leaks, finishing interiors, refueling, and maintaining equipment.
• Start engines to propel ships, and regulate engines and power transmissions.
• Clean engine parts, and keep engine rooms clean.
• Maintain complete records of engineering activities, including machine operations.
• Monitor the availability, use, and condition of lifesaving equipment and pollution preventatives, in order to ensure that regulations are followed.
• Operate and maintain liquid pumps and valves.
• Order and receive engine room's stores such as oil and spare parts; maintain inventories and record usage of supplies.
• Perform and participate in emergency drills as required.
• Assist with general fishing duties, including unloading product and loading ships stores.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the fishing industry working on prawn trawlers
Required Qualifications:
• Certificate - Marine Engine Driver Grade 2

An annual salary for full time employees for the relevant occupation will fall in the range of $65,850.00 to $70,000.00.
