About the Team
Business Group Raw Material Procurement are portfolio with tremendous impact to ensure business operations continuity. While we need to establish operational excellence to support production requirements with on time, in full, and spec & quality compliant delivery from suppliers, we also have major contribution in driving business profitability and growth.
Material cost typically covers 65% of total supply chain cost, hence every price reduction or any saving project to further bring down inflation would mean a significant improvement for the business.
Aside, Raw Material sourcing also faces challenges from the market to be fully responsibly sourced and committed to sustainability. Hence, globally, Unilever has pledged commitment through its USLP which also sets up sustainability target toward NDPE, SuSo, Plant-based materials, regenerative agriculture ingredients…
Job Summary
1) Look after buying activities from sourcing identification in the market; RFQ, tendering, negotiation and supplier awarding processes; support R&D for trials and validations; contracting; vendor master data management; and supply operations.
2) Involve in price forecasting for materials, analyze the material impact and update to key stakeholders in business forum (ie CCBT, etc.)
3) Own responsibility to manage saving projects, related to buying, ZBB and product logics as ways to further enhance business profitability. This role also includes to organize 5S/Slim fast workshop to collaborate with stakeholders in identifying saving opportunities, collaborate for implementation, and manage saving reporting in our reporting platform.
4) Lead resilience strategy over material sourcing through tactical and strategic approaches, such as: buffer stock agreement (joint work with Planner), alternative sourcing/material approval / spec change (joint work with R&D), lead time/MoQ review, etc
5) Look after end-to-end contracting and any relevant legal documentation compliance, ie: NDA, UPA, CTC / UPC, STC for related investment, service level agreement, and any other requirements.
6) Partner with Finance, global portfolio procurement in business forecasting and financial actualization, understand and communicate the drivers of key inflation movements, identify opportunities to prevent and/or mitigate inflation, and review progress.
7) Be Procurement contact as procurement lead of specific categories to internal and external key stakeholders
8) Execution of Innovation Projects and Management of Promotions
9) Development of contingency plans and alternatives to ensure supply security for the MCO
10) Monthly presenting to the business unit leads & other internal stakeholders about sourcing update and other key projects related.
11) Lead strategic procurement projects:
a. Digital: Price Transparency, Negotiation Toolkit, Skyscanner, Resilience 2.0, Anaplan, etc
b. Sustainability
c. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: Business opportunity establishment to diverse suppliers, specifically business owned and/or led by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, women, people with disability, and LGBTQ+
d. Wellbeing: Univoice scores improvement of 5% in growth Mindset, Career development and operational effectiveness
e. Build and develop supplier relationship management with vendors. Lead the agenda for continuous engagement with all related stakeholders and suppliers.
12) Maintain suppliers’ compliance at site (example: USQS, URSA, SQA, etc) and material level (example: D&I, Living Wage, etc)
13) Partner with SC (Planning, Quality, Production, Engineering, etc) for operational supply management, include:
- supplier’s capacity review and action progress monitoring,
- Quality continuous improvement with key offenders of EA, EB, and EC incidents.
- Actions required when experiencing material shortage
- Suppliers’ business waste settlement

What are we looking for
- Relevant experience in Procurement or Supply Management or Finance or Supply Chain, preferably in an FMCG environment.
- Proven track record in delivering capability in data analytics and its visualization, project management, and presentation.
- Strong at selling ideas to his/her business partners, internally and externally, translating these into effective business case proposals conveying value and communicating it accordingly
- Appreciative of the value and impact of outstanding execution – an eagle eye for detail.
- Proactively take lead for the team work’s project for exposing leadership skill and driving skills.
