We are seeking a capable and enthusiastic Financial Risk Manager to join our team in Australia. The Financial Risk Manager will report directly to the country CRO, providing support and second line risk management advice and oversight of the risk identification, assessment and mitigation effort to safeguard the stability and integrity of the organisation’s operation in the AU/NZ region.
Please note that this is a 12 month fixed term contract role based in Sydney.
Your Mission
Be a critical partner to the AU/NZ CRO in supporting the delivery of the AU/NZ risk management strategy.
Conduct regular financial risk assessments and stress tests to identify and evaluate risks specific to the AU/NZ region.
Work closely with product teams to value add on risk insights into product changes, new products and market launch, open issues and horizon risks relevant to the region.
Monitor and analyse regional market trends, product risks, incidents, regulatory developments, and emerging risk factors to assess their impact on the organisation's risk profile and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
Oversee the implementation of risk management tools and systems in the AU/NZ region, leveraging technology and data analytics to enhance risk monitoring, reporting, and decision-making processes.
Work collaboratively with business units and functions to design and implement effective financial risk mitigation strategies, controls and action plans. Monitor the effectiveness of controls and recommend enhancements as necessary.
Monitor the delivery of remediation actions and risk management projects including working collaboratively with business units and functions, and external consultants.
Provide timely and accurate financial risk reports and updates to senior management and the board of directors, highlighting key risk exposures, trends, and emerging risks in the AU/NZ region.
Prepare ICAAP report for Wise Australia, and oversee the development and implementation, including annual review, of the local Liquidity Management Policy, Business Plan, and Exit Plan.
