Position Overview:
Cumberland Manor is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Aged Care Support Worker to join our family-owned residential aged care facility. The role involves providing comprehensive care to elderly residents, assisting them with daily living activities, and ensuring their comfort and dignity. The successful candidate will be part of a close-knit team dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care:
Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, grooming, and mobility.
Support residents in preparing and consuming meals, and help with ambulation and transfers.
Documentation and Reporting:
Accurately document services provided to residents in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Report any changes in a resident's physical condition, behaviour, or appearance to the supervisor or case coordinator.
Companionship and Support:
Provide companionship, emotional support, and promote healthy lifestyle habits among residents.
Assist in resolving routine problems and offer advice to enhance residents' quality of life.
Room Maintenance:
Assist in making beds, tidying rooms, and ensuring a clean and comfortable living environment for residents.
Other Duties:
Support the team in providing palliative and respite care, as required.
Assist residents with any additional needs to maintain their wellbeing.
Qualifications and Experience:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
A relevant AQF Certificate III or higher qualification in Aged Care, Disability Support, or a related field.
At least 1 year of relevant experience working with elderly individuals in a care setting.
Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
