The Positions:

We are seeking 15 Personal Care Assistants to join our team at our Tongala Memorial aged care home, located at 18 Purdey Street, Tongala VIC 3621

Each candidate will be engaged on a full-time basis (38 hours per week); however, we would consider part-time (a minimum of 30 hours per week) if that were the candidate’s preference.

The proposed commencement date for each successful candidate would be approximately November / December 2024.

The successful candidates will join our dynamic and supportive care team and will provide competent personal care, support and assistance to our residents under the direction and guidance of the senior clinical team.

Key duties and responsibilities include assisting residents with activities of daily living and lifestyle in accordance with an individual’s care plan, attending to care duties as allocated and/or delegated by the Registered or Enrolled Nurse, assisting with meal delivery and refreshments, and recording observations on relevant assessment charts and documenting an individual’s progress notes.

The successful candidates will have:

• A relevant qualification or the willingness to undertake on-the-job training.
• A genuine interest for working in aged care.
• An ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.
• A capacity to manage a diverse and demanding workload.
• The ability to work as part of a team.
• Flexibility for shift work including nightshift and weekends.
• A current NDIS Worker Screening Check. Respect will assist each successful candidate to obtain the required certification.

To be considered for employment with Respect, each candidate must satisfy the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.

The applicable hourly rate is between $28.67 (unqualified) to $30.11 (Certificate III) plus penalty rates and applicable shift allowances as provided by our enterprise agreement.
