Henny is seeking highly experienced ESTIMATOR to join their team of professionals.
The Role
The Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the costs (research, source, negotiate and obtain the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors) involved in construction projects ensuring that project bids are competitive, profitable, and aligned with client requirements.
Estimating/Tendering
Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to determine scope of work and materials required
Conduct quantity take-offs, calculate labour and material costs and prepare detailed cost estimates for various construction activities
Manage Henny subcontractor and supplier master register and ensure company data is entered and updated in Procore
Regular verbal communication with all Tenderers and maintain a tender communication register
Maintain tender vetting register and undertake a weekly tender update to the Henny Directors
Communicate with Project Teams on trade performance and update into trade prequalification register on Procore
Coordinate bid clarification schedule in consultation with the Design Coordinator and Commercial Director
Pre-qualifying of new tenderers that contact Henny or submit via Estimate One
Estimating and preparing detailed take-offs as required by the Pre-Construction Manager
Set-up of project and updating of data into Estimate One
Stay up to date on industry trends, construction methodologies, and market pricing to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE)
Compliance with all Henny HSE policies and procedures
Communicate and liaise with project teams to ensure all HSE responsibilities are undertaken
Project Team
Develop and maintain excellent client, consultant, subcontractor, and project team member relationships
Experience & Qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
Proven experience as an estimator or similar role in the construction industry
Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, and techniques
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Project
Proficient using construction management software (Procore preferable) and other estimating software and tools
Attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly proactive and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Exemplary organisation and administration skills
Salary: Between $70,000 and $75,000 per annum + Super
