Brownport Almonds Pty Ltd is one of Australia’s largest almond growers and processors, operating a farm and processing facility in Hattah VIC. We require a full-time, qualified Irrigation Assistant. The Irrigation Assistant will be responsible for overseeing the irrigation of certain farms or sections in our business.
The salary offered is $73,150 per annum plus super.
The applicant should have at least a relevant Certificate II or 2 years of full-time work experience (at least 38 hours per week) at a primary producer. The applicant must be committed to working in regional Victoria.
The applicant will be responsible for the following tasks:
• Determine and schedule irrigations based on weather conditions.
• Irrigate crops as required.
• Assess soil moisture on a daily basis by undertaking crop inspections.
• Assist in design and implementation of the irrigation program.
• Schedule irrigations.
• Install irrigation systems.
• Maintain pumping systems for irrigation.
• Daily maintenance of irrigation systems.
• Completing general tasks assisting others as required.
• Participate in staff development as requested or required.
• Inspect and report any maintenance required.
