Our client is seeking a logistics manager to join their team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Determining, implementing and monitoring purchasing, storage and distribution strategies, policies and plans
Preparing and implementing plans to maintain required stock levels at minimum cost
Negotiating contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements
Monitoring and reviewing storage and inventory systems to meet supply requirements and control stock levels
Operating recording systems to track all movements of supplies and finished goods, and ensuring re-ordering and re-stocking at optimal times
Liaising with other departments and customers concerning requirements for outward goods and associated forwarding transportation
Overseeing the recording of purchase, storage and distribution transactions
Directing staff activities and monitoring their performance
Provision of products and services to meet customer or client requirements
To plan, manage and evaluate the warehouse/logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistic providers and transportation companies
Plans, manages, and coordinates all activities relating to the warehouse and staffing requirements
Manages Inventory, ensuring accurate stocking levels of materials, parts and products.
Optimising logistics processes, including quality assurance, storage/space management, inventory, maintaining a safe and organised environments
Communicate and negotiate with key suppliers and vendors
Lead continuous improvement activities, focusing on cost sustainability, risk mitigation and efficiency improvement
Negotiates terms and conditions with Freight/transport companies to achieve overall reductions and/or efficiency in delivery services
Monthly reporting against department KPI’s in line with business requirements
Works closely with Health and Safety to ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (COR)
Skills and Qualifications
Degree in Business Administration or similar
10+ years experience as logistics and distribution manager
Solution focused and strong analytical skills
Strong customer service skills with a proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships
Strong Leadership Skills to manage and mentor the team
Pay range
$80000 - $90000 + superannuation
