Job Description:
On behalf or client is seeking The Drilling Fluids Specialist who responsible for maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable PSD to
Customers. The Drilling Fluids Specialist identifies opportunities to improve service delivery,
implements standard work, and manage, risk during service delivery. The Drilling Fluids Specialist will be responsible for the implementation of drilling fluid programs for a variety of drilling projects and/or workover and abandonment projects. The position will work closely with the drilling team at the wellsite to ensure that the drilling fluid program meets the objectives of the project.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Implement drilling fluid programs for new wells, workovers, and abandonments in accordance with company standards.
• Monitor and optimize drilling fluid properties and performance in order to achieve desired wellbore conditions while minimizing costs.
• Monitor and optimize solids control equipment performance and efficiency in relation to the drilling fluids properties.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with HSE regulations.
• Prepare daily drilling fluid reports and maintain accurate records of fluid volumes, product inventory, usage, and costs.
• Evaluate and select drilling fluid additives based on their compatibility with formation fluids, anticipated downhole conditions, and desired fluid properties.
• Design and conduct laboratory tests to evaluate drilling fluid behaviour under various simulated downhole conditions.
• Interpret test results to determine appropriate fluid treatments.
• Ongoing training and development of personal competency profile (PCP) for job role.
• Ensure job deliverables are accurate and delivered on time.
• Responsible for service delivery execution.
• Participate in job risk analysis and continual improvement programs.
• Develop customer contacts to promote company products and services.
• Ensure company and regulatory standard compliance by implementing the CAT, self-assessments, and wellsite inspections.
• Participate in Service Quality Meetings with customers and improve performance using action plans.
• Participate in HSE and Quality initiatives.
• Wear PPE and observe HSE policies.
• Maintain the required safety training.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, or Petroleum Engineering (or equivalent) preferred
• Preferably an Engineering or Science HND qualification as a minimum (Candidates with industry experience will be considered)
• Experience of working in the industry.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Strong analytical skills for evaluating drilling fluid properties and performance.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
Salary range 80,000 to 100,000
