Talent Right company logo

About the client
Our client has been crafting beautiful, functional outdoor spaces across Queensland. We specialise in landscaping, outdoor structures, and nature play areas for schools and commercial spaces, with a strong focus on projects that leave a lasting, positive impact on local communities. We believe in creating environments where creativity thrives, and where children can explore and grow.

The Role
As a Site Manager, you will oversee commercial construction projects with a focus on creating meaningful and purposeful outdoor spaces for educational establishments, including playgrounds and sensory nature play areas. You will lead a small, dedicated team and work closely with subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standard. This role is hands-on, collaborative, and perfect for someone who loves bringing creative ideas to life through practical execution.

What We’re Looking

For You’re calm under pressure, humble, and team-oriented. You don’t have an ego, and you’re the kind of person who listens as much as you lead. You’re passionate about creating spaces that matter – places where children and communities can thrive. You’re a hands-on leader, ready to roll up your sleeves and get involved in the process, from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Manage the end-to-end delivery of construction projects, from brickwork to landscaping and timber structures.
  • Team Collaboration: Lead a small site team and subcontractors, fostering a cooperative and positive work environment.
  • Client Communication: Act as the key point of contact for clients, including school staff and government bodies, ensuring smooth communication and project alignment.
  • Hands-On Execution: Get involved in the practical side of things – from overseeing the work to jumping on the tools and leading from the front.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all safety standards are met and maintained throughout the project.
  • Tools: Understanding of how to use QR codes, Smartsheets, and Workbench for tracking project progress but comfortable with a paper based processed whilst new technology is being implemented in the coming months.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Trade-qualified carpenter or builder with experience in timber structures.
  • Hands-on experience in site management, ideally within landscaping or civil construction.
  • Skid Steer or Excavator experience required.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage both teams and multiple projects.
  • Great communicator, comfortable liaising with senior project managers and school stakeholders.
  • Experience working with children’s play areas is a bonus but not essential.
  • Working with Children Card (preferred).

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary.
  • Superannuation, phone allowance, and a fuel card.
  • Company vehicle (Ute or tool truck).
  • 4 weeks annual leave.
  • The chance to be part of a team that’s truly making a difference through creative, purposeful work.
