Job Title: Bricklayer
Our company is seeking a skilled and hardworking Bricklayer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various masonry materials, demonstrate attention to detail, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
• Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry materials to construct walls, foundations, chimneys, and other structural elements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate construction.
• Ensure all work meets building codes, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Study drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures.
• Cut masonry blocks to required sizes.
• Install flashing and damp proofing during various stages of construction.
• Set out brick and block work to professional standards in a timely and efficient manner.
• Conduct tasks and duties in accordance with workplace health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a qualified Bricklayer.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction techniques, and masonry materials.
• Construction White Card.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Good physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labour tasks.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Proven experience in brick and block laying, particularly face brick laying.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic.
