Job Title: Painter and Decorator
Our company is seeking a skilled and hardworking Painters to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working with a variety of surface materials, demonstrate attention to detail, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, blasting, scraping, filling cracks, or using mechanical methods.
• Apply paint, sealers, and coatings using brush, roll techniques, and other methods on both interior and exterior surfaces such as plaster, sheetrock, concrete, and wood.
• Ensure all work is completed according to project specifications and quality standards.
• Follow established safety rules, maintain a clean and safe environment, and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
• Clean surfaces prior to applying paint, and maintain technical equipment for the job, ensuring it is in working order.
• Use different painting techniques based on the nature of the surface.
• Utilize viscosity cups and thickness gauges to measure paint quantity and texture.
• Remove old paint surfaces using masking or chemical rinses.
• Paint small items and perform touch-ups when necessary.
• Ensure proper ventilation after paint application.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.
• Paint over various materials such as composites and metals.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in residential and small or large-scale commercial painting projects.
• Trade qualification in painting and decorating (preferred but not essential).
• Proficiency with technical machinery and painting tools.
• White Card (OHS Construction Induction) and valid driver's license.
• Qualifications such as Confined Space Entry, Fire Sentry Training, and Working at Heights certifications are advantageous.
• Painters registration and decorator tradesman certificate (desirable).
• Experience in brush hand work (mandatory).
• Working with Children Blue Card (or willingness to obtain).
• Police clearance obtained within 6 months (or willingness to obtain).
• Genuine commitment to safe work practices.
• Strong attention to detail, diligence, and excellent dexterity.
• Ability to work autonomously and produce high-quality work.
• Reliable, flexible, and committed to exceptional customer service.
