FOR COMMONWEALTH EMPLOYEES ONLY The Commonwealth Ombudsman Legal Team provides in-house legal services to the Office. The team is the primary point of contact for staff who need legal assistance in undertaking their work, additionally, the team manages Freedom of Information requests, oversees the Offices privacy obligations, and manages litigation on behalf of the Office. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working within a legal team of a government agency, across an interesting and diverse range of legal matters. The Ombudsmans office provides valuable and fulfilling work. Its strategic vision is to: provide assurance that the Australian Government entities and prescribed private sector organisations the Commonwealth Ombudsman oversights act with integrity and treat people fairly influence enduring systemic improvement in public administration in Australia and the region.
