POSITION
Full time position is available for a Barista in Cairns, QLD 4870.
SKILLS
The role requires you to hold at least a relevant AQF Cert III or above + 12 months of relevant employment experience. If no relevant qualification, at least 2 years of relevant employment experience is required.
RESPONSIBILITES
As a Barista, your role is essential in delivering outstanding coffee experience to our customers. You will be responsible for a range of tasks, from crafting coffee beverages to providing exceptional customer service. You will welcome customers, take orders efficiently, operate the coffee equipment and prepare a diverse range of drinks. You will be highly energetic and outgoing with a can-do attitude and the ability to multitask and jump in where needed.
TASKS
• Welcoming and serving 100+ customers in a fast-paced environment, handling dine-in and takeaway orders efficiently, including answering phone calls, making reservations, and responding to email inquiries.
• Preparing and serving a wide range of beverages, including coffee, tea, milkshakes, smoothies, fresh juices, and espresso-based drinks such as lattes and cappuccinos, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Handling food preparation, such as toasties, wraps, cakes, and muffins, and delivering meals to tables while providing excellent customer service.
• Operating coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment, as well as providing basic barista training to new staff in two restaurants (Aquarium/Waterfront).
• Managing stock, replenishing supplies like coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other necessary items, and placing weekly orders to ensure inventory levels are maintained.
• Handling cash and processing payment transactions, opening and closing the cash register, and maintaining proper cash management protocols.
• Ensuring workspace cleanliness by completing daily/weekly cleaning duties, following hygiene protocols, and adhering to COVID-19 safety measures.
• Adhering to health and safety regulations and always maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.
• Taking charge of Japanese customers, translating menus for them and providing assistance as needed.
• Communicating effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
