Mildura Fruit Juices Australia (MFJA) commenced trading in 1970 and is a major fruit processor of juices, concentrates, cut peels, oils, blends & bases, confectionery, sauces, pulps and purees to the beverage and food service industries.
As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment to support our production processes.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintenance work. Responsibilities will include:
• Conducting routine maintenance on machinery and equipment to prevent malfunctions and breakdowns
• Diagnosing mechanical issues and implementing effective solutions to restore functionality
• Performing repairs and replacements of faulty components as necessary
• Adhering to safety protocols and regulations while carrying out maintenance activities
• Collaborating with other team members to troubleshoot complex technical problems
• Assisting in the installation of new machinery and equipment when required
• Assist in developing and introducing improved engineering methods throughout the plant while maintaining ISO 9002, HACCP and GMP standards
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and reporting any recurring issues to management
Skills and Experience
• Trade or engineering qualifications
• Proven experience as a maintenance fitter or similar role
• Competency in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
• Experience in performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting machinery
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Familiarity with food manufacturing equipment is advantageous
