Position: Workshop Mechanic
Location: Maddington WA 6109
Salary $80000-$100000 dependant on experience
Purpose
The Workshop Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining heavy vehicles, trucks, and trailers, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. They will use their expertise to diagnose and identify any defective components accurately. The role involves conducting minor repairs on heavy vehicles and trailers to maintain their operational efficiency. Additionally, the mechanic will service and maintain various construction machinery, such as EWP's, wheel loaders, skid steer loaders, excavators, forklifts, telehandlers. A strong understanding of mechanical systems and a commitment to high-quality workmanship are essential for this role.
Duties and responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and servicing on heavy vehicles, trucks, and trailers to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
Diagnose mechanical issues and accurately identify defective components in heavy vehicles and trailers.
Conduct minor repairs on heavy vehicles and trailers to maintain optimal operational efficiency.
Service and maintain various construction machinery, including EWPs, wheel loaders, skid steer loaders, excavators, forklifts, and telehandlers.
Inspect vehicles and equipment for compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed on vehicles and equipment.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
Assist in ordering and managing inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for repairs and maintenance.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Provide recommendations for improving vehicle and equipment performance and longevity.
Qualifications / Experience
Relevant qualifications as motor or diesel mechanic or fitter desired
At least 2 years of relevant work experience
Minimum HR drivers licence highly regarded
