The Job
As an Operator in NORDEN your main role will be to operate a group of vessels in various areas. This includes, but is not limited to; monitoring, negotiating, measuring, and optimising the performance of dry cargo vessels, as well as engaging in daily contact and coordination with vessels, agents, internal stakeholders and support functions, Charterers and Owners to ensure smooth operation.
You will become part of a large, energised and diverse global team - but at the same time, you will work in a smaller group with various experience and knowledge.
Your Profile, Skills and Experience
We are looking for an individual who wants a real challenge and has good instincts and commercial acumen. In particular, the successful applicant will be expected to:
• have a minimum of five (5) years shipping experience in dry bulk operations ashore;
• have the ability to thrive in an environment where relationships and P&L are equally prioritised;
• enjoy taking responsibility and ownership of your job, your duties and your responsibilities;
• be able to demonstrate your ability to optimise voyages;
• be able to deliver a high-quality service to our customers;
• be inquisitive, self-motivated and a great problem solver who is comfortable in a diverse and forward-thinking environment;
• be collaborative, trustworthy and reliable;
• be focused on the quality of your work and overall team development; and
• have the ability to work independently and maintain ownership over your fleet of vessels, projects and assignments.
In addition to the above, a key quality will be your understanding and knowledge of various IT systems and processes. Experience with IMOS and SEDNA is considered an asset. ?
A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field would be highly desirable but is not strictly required.
