Accountant – successful NDIS provider

About the role
The new head office-based Accountant will have a diverse and very satisfying role across a range of accounting functions.
As Accountant you will be a core member of the management team by providing your expertise to the accounting function. You will provide support on all accounting related matters and take a lead role in preparation of budgets, reports, and financial statements for various stakeholders. You will also provide advice for financial matters internally and to external stakeholders.
Tenure – full time, ongoing
Location – West Footscray Vic
Reporting to company management and other stakeholders, responsibilities will include:
• Assisting in formulating budgetary and accounting policies
•
• Production of internal management reporting (monthly and more frequently)
• Preparing financial statements for various stakeholders
• Preparation of financial reports, with a focus on accuracy and their compliance with statutory requirements
• Examining and recording operating costs, income, and expenditure
• Providing ad-hoc financial advice for the business directors
• Operation and maintenance of the inhouse accounting system
• Month-end activities
To be considered, you can demonstrate the following attributes and skills:
• You are passionate about your accounting career and wish to make your mark in a growing and complex environment
• Ideally, you have experience in the NDIS sector
• Possess relevant qualifications in Accounting (Minimum Bachelor level degree in a highly relevant discipline)
• At least 2 to 3 years working experience since you earned your qualifications
• CA or CPA (or progress towards) would be beneficial, but not essential
• A well organised working style – able to cheerfully meet demanding work requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication style
• Working rights – you can work fulltime in Australia without any restriction
