Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Epping, VIC
Job Responsibilities:
• Design and innovate mechanical components, equipment, and systems specifically for caravan manufacturing, ensuring all products meet robust standards for quality and efficiency.
• Develop detailed specifications for the creation of caravan components while selecting appropriate materials and overseeing the procurement of equipment.
• Lead project management activities, including the organization of labour and the timely delivery of materials, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to enhance product design and manufacturing processes.
• Set and enforce engineering standards for installation, modification, testing, and maintenance, ensuring compliance with both internal quality controls and external safety regulations.
• Direct and supervise the maintenance of manufacturing facilities and equipment, including the planning of new designs, conducting maintenance assessments, and scheduling repairs.
• Utilize advanced design software such as AutoCAD and Revit to create precise fabrication drawings for caravan interiors and custom components.
• Implement innovative design modifications to cater to custom caravan layouts, enhancing functionality and consumer satisfaction.
• Employ Maestro Software for precise CNC programming, optimizing tool management and ensuring accurate machining of components.
• Coordinate the design and production schedules for varied caravan models, ensuring all specifications align with client demands and production timelines.
Hours of Work: This is a full-time position requiring 38 hours of work per week.
Salary: The successful applicant will be offered a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in a mechanical engineering role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in mechanical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and CNC programming.
