The Role:
This position has been established to fulfil a number of targeted activities to improve the delivery of general surgical services to patients at the Launceston General Hospital, Northern Region and to assist in the coordination and training of Surgical Registrars and Resident Medical Officers (RMOs).
The successful Launceston General Hospital Fellowship applicant will receive expert tuition in total hip replacement (anterior and posterior approach), revision hip replacement, hip arthroscopy, total knee replacement (including computer assisted surgery and robotic surgery), revision knee replacement, knee arthroscopy, reconstructive surgery of the knee, knee osteotomy, and general orthopaedic trauma.
There will be a supervised surgery at the LGH and then Private assisting at St Lukes Hospital Calvary. The LGH has trauma list and arthroplasty lists which are supervised by a VMO where the successful candidate will get operative experience.
