The Opportunity
BlueScope Building Components is looking for a Purchasing Officer to join the National Purchasing team based in Lyndhurst, VIC. BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions and services through its four leading brands: Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild and Kiteleys.
Working within a fast-paced and customer-focused team, you will play an integral role in coordinating and supporting our national purchasing function. Standard office hours are 9am – 5pm, we can offer some flexibility to start and finish time to help you manage the work life balance juggling act!
What Will You Do?
Being part of our on-site team at our busy production hub, you'll be responsible for our critical purchasing and procurement and ensuring we maintain a cost competitive position. You'll be:
- processing purchase orders and managing the information and data associated with these
- supporting on all purchasing related admin-based tasks, handling order confirmations and invoice issues/queries as they arise
- monitor the quality of supplier service through vendor ratings and accounts payable
- following up suppliers to resolve issues efficiently and effectively
- ensure all code of conduct and trade practices requirements are observed
More About You
With some experience or exposure to purchasing and/or procurement function, you'll bring your energy and a curious mind along with:
- high attention to detail and ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
- strong interpersonal skills and confident communicating with a variety of stakeholders
- proficiency in MS Office applications
- the ability to pick up systems and processes quickly
