Genis Steel are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Electronic Equipment Trades Worker to join their team in Somerton Vic 3062.

Role Overview:

The Electronic Equipment Trades Worker will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of various electrical and mechanical equipment within our workshop. This role involves coordinating servicing, ensuring compliance with maintenance documents, and adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Preparation and assistance of plans and designs for electrical engineering work.
- Collection of analysed data, preparing diagrams and carrying out computations.
- Analyse and assess performance graphs to ensure functionality and diagnosis is in accordance with manufacturing specifications.
- Test mechanical equipment to ensure proper function and identify faults.
- Organise and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant equipment.
- Dismantle defective machine and components for repairs.
- Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operations and adjust.
- Installing equipment, machines, wiring or programs to meet specifications.
- Repair, servicing and maintain a wide variety of equipment and machinery.
- Ensuring works are within specifications and regulations including material costing’s, quantities, machine requirements and timeframe.
- Examining and testing machines, equipment, instruments and control systems to diagnose faults
Adjusting, repairing, and replacing worn and defective parts and wiring, and maintaining machines, equipment and instruments
- Reassembling, test operating and adjusting equipment
- Advising users of correct operating procedures to prevent malfunctions
- Installing electronic instruments and control systems
- Applying knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic principles in commissioning and maintaining control systems
- Other maintenance / engineering duties required by Management.
- Ensure that you are carrying out your daily tasks in a safe manner, where required following any safe work procedures and or risk assessments.
- Ensure that you are always wearing the appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE), relevant to the duties that are being performed.
- Ensure you report all incidents (Safety/Environmental/Quality) and near misses following the correct Genis Steel Incident Reporting Procedure.
- Ensure that If you do not hold the correct licence to operate a vehicle, forklift, plant, or crane, under no circumstances can you operate those plant/machinery.
- Ensure correct & current licences are held to perform any risk work.
- Maintains a safe & clean work environment.
- Assist in the development of SWMS, Safe Operating Procedures and Machine Operating Guides, other equipment & resources as well as maintain compliance with the established policy & procedures.

Environment:

- Ensure you report all environmental incidents or near misses following the correct Genis Steel Incident Reporting Procedure.
- Ensure that you follow the Genis Steel Recycling Guide.
- Ensure that all Genis Steel Emergency Procedures are followed in the event there is an environmental emergency.

Quality:

- If you identify a quality non-conformance, ensure it is logged via the Quality Non-Conformance Procedure to be investigated.
- Maintains quality service by establishing & enforcing our company standards.

Qualifications:

- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
- Proven experience in maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles.

Salary range is $70,000-$85,000pa commensurate with experience
