• The registered nurse provides evidence-based nursing care to people of all ages and cultural groups, including individuals, families, and communities.
• The registered nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve goals and health outcomes.
• The registered nurse takes a leadership role in the coordination of nursing and healthcare within and across different care contexts to facilitate optimal health outcomes. This includes appropriate referral to, and consultation with, other relevant health professionals, service providers, and community and support services.
The registered nurse practices independently and interdependently, assuming accountability and responsibility for their own actions and delegation of care to enrolled nurses and health care workers.


• As per NMBA Registered Nurse Standards of Practice, your responsibilities will cover:
• Standard 1: Thinks critically and analyses nursing practice: Registered Nurses use a variety of thinking strategies and the best available evidence in making decisions and providing safe, quality nursing practice within person-centred and evidence-based frameworks.

• Standard 2: Engages in therapeutic and professional relationships: The Registered Nurse practice is based on purposefully engaging in effective therapeutic and professional relationships. This includes collegial generosity in the context of mutual trust and respect in professional relationships.

• Standard 3: Maintains the capability for practice: Registered Nurses, as regulated health professionals, are responsible and accountable for ensuring they are safe, and have the capability for practice. This includes ongoing self-management and responding when there is concern about other health professionals’ capability for practice. Registered Nurses are responsible for their professional development and contribute to the development of others. They are also responsible for providing information and education to enable people to make decisions and take action in relation to their health.

• Standard 4: Comprehensively conducts assessments: Registered Nurses accurately conduct comprehensive and systematic assessments. They analyse information and data and communicate outcomes as the basis for practice.

• Standard 5: Develops a plan for nursing practice: Registered Nurses are responsible for the planning and communication of nursing practice. Agreed plans are developed in partnership. They are based on the RNs appraisal of comprehensive, relevant information, and evidence that is documented and communicated.

• Standard 6: Provides safe, appropriate and responsive quality nursing practice: Registered Nurses provide and may delegate, quality and ethical goal-directed actions. These are based on comprehensive and systematic assessment, and the best available evidence to achieve planned and agreed outcomes

• Standard 7: Evaluates outcomes to inform nursing practice: Registered Nurses take responsibility for the evaluation of practice based on agreed priorities, goals, plans and outcomes and revises practice accordingly.

DESCRIPTION
Direct Comprehensive Care
• Practice as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Professional Standards for Practice, Code of Professional Conduct, and Code of Ethics for Nurses, to deliver professional competent care in line with public expectations.
• Undertake nursing interventions that are appropriate to the level and scope of practice, including identification and management of clinical risk, assessment, planning and implementation in collaboration with individual/s and multidisciplinary health care teams to achieve expected health and wellbeing goals.
• Collect and report on individual's clinical information in a timely manner, maintain confidentiality and accurate health care documentation to ensure necessary information is available to meet legal and ongoing care requirements.
• Adopt the principles of the nursing and midwifery delegation and supervision framework when supporting staff within the workplace to deliver safe competent care.
• Work in collaboration with the individual, their carers other healthcare team members/colleagues to provide a person-centred environment and communicate effectively about nursing outcomes in a timely manner to support the provision of people focused quality care.
Support of Systems
• Utilise electronic or paper based medical record to document and record nursing activity.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
• Plans nursing care in consultation with individuals/groups, significant others, and the interdisciplinary health care team.
Education
• Participates in professional development to enhance nursing practice.
Research
• Uses best available evidence, standards, and guidelines to evaluate nursing performance.
• Demonstrates analytical skills in accessing and evaluating health information and research evidence.
Professional leadership
• Practices in accordance with legislation affecting nursing practice and health care.
• Practices within a professional and ethical nursing framework.
• Development of self and others.
• Supervise and educate nursing students undertaking clinical practice.

CANDIDATE’S PROFILE
• Relevant qualifications and registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (or ability to obtain)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience or more as a nurse
• A genuine interest and passion for nursing
• A passion for client care and a high standard of customer-service
• National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
• NDIS screening check
• Working-With-Children check
• Proof of immunisation against infectious diseases
• English communication abilities (meet the minimum English requirement set out by NMBA)
• Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and organise workload and deliver care with integrity and accountability

JOB OFFER
Salary: Starting at AUD87,780 per annum (excluding Super)
Locations available: NSW, ACT, VIC, SA, WA and QLD.
