Welcome to Thornbury Pty Ltd We’re on the look out for an experienced Functions and Event Manager at Welcome to Thornbury. With multiple spaces we host weddings, birthdays, funerals, corporate events and everything in between. BenefitsTask & Responsibilities Job Duties: Working alongside our Sales Team to: Respond to client enquiries around events including food and beverage options and costings, room and equipment hire, event timings for functions, events, corporate functions, and banquets. Organise floor plans, run-sheets, rosters, and audio-visual requirements ahead of events. Meet with clients for site visits ahead of events to discuss their needs. Co-ordinate with external suppliers to arrange specific bump-in requirements. Promote the venue to potential clients. Responsibilities: Working with Event Supervisors, FOH Staff, Kitchen Staff to ensure smooth delivery of events by: Co-ordinating staff duties on the day. Overseeing Event Supervisors for multiple events. Co-ordinating with external suppliers or contractors on the day. Ensuring events are kept to timings as outlined by clients in event run-sheets. Ensuring all catering, signage, audio-visual requirements, and any specific needs are met as planned. Ensuring all specific dietary requirements and allergies are properly handled. Being the point of contact for clients on the day to handle any issues or last-minute changes, including negotiating any changes to budget, costings, etc.   Qualification & Experience Diploma or higher in event management, hospitality, public relations, or a related field, ideally. Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in events operations, including staff management and training. You have experience in running multiple spaces and events. You’re pro-active and always one step ahead. Experience in planning and executing a variety of events, such as conferences, exhibitions, corporate meetings, and social gatherings. Proficiency in preparing and managing event budgets. Ability to liaise with suppliers, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful event execution. Strong skills in addressing challenges during event planning and execution. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple events simultaneously.
