Hutch Underwriting Pty Ltd Your Role As a highly visible data champion, you will leverage complex data sets to identify trends, patterns and insights that serve to improve business performance, and inform strategic decision-making aligned with the stakeholder’s needs, in order to deliver Hutch’s data and digital transformations. Utilizing advanced analytics and data-centric approaches, you will also identify opportunities for business growth and risk mitigation, spotlighting trends, discovering insights, and providing quality data-driven recommendations to enhance operational efficiency, improve customer engagement and drive growth. Collaborating closely with stakeholders including digital, underwriting, actuarial, risk management and the executive team, you will assist in driving evidence-based decisions, promoting profitability to enable business growth. Your Responsibilities Create comprehensive reports and innovative data visualization to represent MI in a clear, actionable way for both technical and non-technical audiences. Contribute to the overall domain delivery of insights and data capabilities, complimented with mentoring colleagues in the use of published data assets, performing analyses, and presenting findings in a concise and understandable language. Ensure all data analysis processes, reports and methodologies comply with applicable security, privacy, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Play a pivotal role in the data classification and data security management for critical products and portfolio data. Actively monitor delivered insights, data visualisations and other data analytics capabilities, ensuring stakeholder adoption and value realisation. Actively participate and contribute to the Data & Analytics Community. Qualifications Your Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in mathematics, computer science, economics, or statistics. 5+ years of related practical experience, preferably in commercial insurance sector. Experience with database and model design and segmentation techniques. Expert knowledge of SQL and experience with other programming languages such as Python or R. Experience with Spark/Scala and Databricks is highly desirable. Proficiency with data analysis and visualisation tools and platforms, preferably Qliksense, Power BI, Alteryx, etc. Demonstrated ability to utilise data visualisation techniques to powerfully convey insights and facilitate data discovery. Familiar with storytelling techniques, using data. Good understanding of statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive modelling, and multivariate testing. Experience in data management, classifying and cleansing complex data sets, ensuring data integrity and quality. Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, preferably in Scaled Agile model. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex data findings and insights in simple and clear terms, and to present them effectively to different audiences, from technical teams to executives.
