One of our clients, Contemporary Catering, is looking for an experienced Chef.
Contemporary Catering is a family owned and run business providing specialist catering services into Aged Care facilities of the highest standard since 1992. We have several exciting job opportunities available for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Chefs. We operate in over 45 locations throughout Victoria and Queensland employing over 700 staff. We offer opportunities for career development and progression.

Position: Chef
Salary: $95,500 plus superannuation
Location: Gisborne, VIC 3437
Job Type: Permanent position, Full time. Must be available to work on weekends and public holidays.

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Production and delivery of high-quality meals
2. Planning, development and adjustment of menus, considering customer feedback, and business objectives.
3. Oversee and support resident dining experience
4. Lead & manage kitchen team, ensuring a smooth operation.
5. Manage compliance related to food safety, WHS and quality.
6. Stock control and ordering
7. Food cost management
8. Communicate with facility management, residents and families

To be considered for this role, your key skills, and attributes must include:
1. Holds relevant chef qualifications with at least three years of professional experience (full-time).
2. Possesses a Certificate IV in Cookery or a higher trade qualification.
3. Experience within Aged Care with a strong understanding of modified texture and dietary needs.
4. Understanding of food cost management.
5. Proactive approach to continuous improvement.
6. Strong personal presentation and grooming skills.
7. Food safety legislation understanding.
8. Must have full working rights in Australia.
