The Role:
We are seeking a creative and experienced Chef to lead our kitchen and bring the vibrant flavors of Indian cuisine to life. As a Chef at Bhoj At Docklands, you will be responsible for crafting mouth-watering dishes that meet the high standards our guests have come to expect. This role is perfect for a talented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Menu Development: Design and develop innovative, authentic Indian dishes that align with the restaurant’s culinary philosophy and cater to a wide range of tastes.
2. Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook high-quality meals with a focus on consistency, taste, and presentation, ensuring each dish meets the restaurant’s standards.
3. Kitchen Management: Oversee daily kitchen operations, including ordering, inventory management, and compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
4. Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and a high standard of food production.
5. Quality Assurance: Monitor food preparation and portion sizes, ensuring that all dishes are prepared with precision and care.
6. Cost Control: Manage kitchen expenses, including food costs and inventory, to ensure profitability while maintaining quality standards.
7. Customer Focus: Adapt menu items to meet customer preferences and dietary requirements, ensuring a personalized dining experience.
Requirements:
1. Qualifications: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
2. Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Chef in an Indian fine dining or high-end restaurant.
3. Skills: Expertise in Indian cuisine, food preparation techniques, and kitchen management. Strong leadership skills and the ability to work under pressure.
4. Work Rights: Must have full working rights in Australia.
5. Personal Attributes: Passionate about food, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
