On behalf of our client, Clough Projects Pty ltd, we are hiring. This role will be based on site as part of the Clough Waitsia Gas Project Stage 2 Project in Karratha, WA and is responsible for the operation of a variety of different crawler type and hydraulic rough terrain cranes to lift, move and place a variety of construction equipment and materials.
Tasks & Duties:
· Operate Crawler and Hydraulic Rough-Terrain crane to lift, transfer and place loads to various levels and locations within the working range and safe lifting capacity of the crane.
· Assess the condition of the ground prior to setting up or lifting with the crane.
· Inspect crane mechanisms or lifting accessories to prevent malfunctions or damage.
· Ensure that the crane is set up on level ground and all safety mechanisms are operable before attempting to lift and place a load.
· Ensure that the crane is safe for use by the means of conducting thorough daily pre-start inspections as per the manufacture’s recommendations.
· Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities to prevent overload.
· Direct the support team (riggers) with the set-up of the crane.
· Observe and follow the signals given by a suitable dogman or rigger in charge of directing a lift.
· Shut down and leave crane in a safe manner at all times when leaving the crane.
· Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections.
· Read and interpret lift plans / procedures.
· Execute work in line with Management System requirements.
· Other duties as directed
Skills an Experience:
• Minimum 5 years experience performing Crane Operation work in a mining construction environment.
• Experience in duel crane lifting
• Experienced in the set-up, maintenance and operation of Sumitomo SCX 2800 Crawler & TADANO GR-800EX Rough Terrain cranes.
• Desirable – Experience in the set-up, maintenance and operation of a Manitowoc M16000 with MAX-ER
• Demonstrated experience performing dynamic crane lifts
• Experience with heavy lifts up to 350t.
• Sound technical knowledge of all aspects of crane operation including but not limited to load assessment, lifting equipment identification and machine limitations.
• Ability to take into account conflicting activities and environmental conditions that may affect the lifting condition.
• Knowledge of safe lifting principles.
• Competent at developing, implementing and following risk assessments.
• Experience working under Permit to Work Systems and adhering to Permit to Work conditions.
• Ability to use tools and equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct work safely at heights

• High Risk Work License – CO – Slewing Mobile Crane (>100)
