Our valued client Metal Recovery Industries based in Rockhampton Qld, is seeking qualified and experienced PAINTING TRADES PERSON to join their team of professionals on a full-time and permanent basis.
The Company collects, salvages and processes scrap metal goods for recycle and re use in regional and remote areas in Central North Queensland, including mining sites.
To be successful in this position, you should ideally be:
Competent with airless and conventional spray painting
Experienced in coating applications (Brush and Roller)
Competent with abrasive blast equipment
Understand surface preparation and finishes.
Be able to understand and complete works to specifications.
Be able to mix to correct ratio two-part paint coatings etc.
Select paints, varnishes and stains to various surfaces using brushes, sprays, and rollers.
Understand the use of Wet Film Thickness Gauges and be able to achieve specified dry film thickness.
Be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
Erecting scaffolding and ladders.
Cleaning equipment and work areas.
Desirable traits and will highly be regarded:
Trade Certificate –Certificate III in Surface Preparation or equivalent (for Blaster/Painters)
Construction Induction (White or Blue Card)
High Risk Licence for EWP and/or Forklift
Trade Qualifications in Protective Coatings (ACA, NACE, ICorr, or other trade certs)
HR licence, high risk licence with EWP and Forklift
Drivers Licence (MR or HR class)
Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
Strong communication skills
Must have great work ethics
