The hybrid broadcast operator role is a multifaceted position that covers a variety of technical and operational responsibilities across multiple areas. This includes overseeing television signal transmissions, managing live crosses, and performing MCR duties while coordinating with the newsroom, control room, and field operators to ensure seamless broadcasts.
Day to day includes but won't be limited to:
MCR
- Control TV signal connectivity across Nine Entertainment Co’s network
- Manage live and pre-recorded segments, ensuring quality audio/video levels.
- Handle web conferencing for live or pre-recorded broadcasts.
Floor Tech
- Ensure studio equipment is functional and assist with radio mics/IFB systems.
- Operate autocue and act as a link between control room and talent during broadcasts.
Co-Pilot
- Support the Pilot and Line Producer to ensure smooth broadcasts.
- Oversee studio technical functions (lighting, cameras) and liaise with NPC and caption providers.
Audio-Post
- Record and mix voice-overs, balance audio elements, and create sound effects.
- Ensure deliverables meet standards
