The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our Transmission Engineering team at the Burswood Head Office for the position of Cable Design Engineer. The primary purpose of this role is to drive and deliver safe and sustainable electrical engineering for mining and utility projects.
Our highly experienced team and various projects will provide you with the environment and support you need to learn and grow as an engineer. Opportunities will be varied and plenty, but may include undertaking the following tasks,
• Sizing of LV, MV, HV and EHV through industry recognised software
• Investigating and providing optimised cable routes
• Complete cable pulling calculations
• Designing cable joint pits
• Providing engineering solutions for various cable layouts
• Participate in site investigation activities.
• Provide project engineering and construction support.
• Assist with project delivery, safety, and quality.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
• 5+ years experience with cable design and engineering for project from 33kV to 500kV.
• An enthusiasm to learn and seize unique opportunity to gain a well-rounded experience on a technical career path under the supervision and mentorship of senior engineers.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing work requirements and varying workloads.
• Ability to work cooperatively and effectively within the team and the organisation.
• Effective communication skills with an ability to produce high quality design drawings and deliverables.
• Effective time management and ability to plan and manage assigned design tasks and take responsibility for delivering outcomes.
