ConsultANZ is looking for a Mechanical Piping Designer / Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson for a role in Brisbane, Australia.
This is a leading engineering firm specializing in providing innovative solutions in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Water, and Wastewater industries.
What's In It for You?
Develop detailed piping layouts and designs / drawings in accordance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
Collaborate with project teams to create accurate 3D models and production drawings using AutoCAD 2D or 3D, as well as Autodesk Plant 3D software.
Conduct thorough reviews of designs to ensure compliance with industry regulations and client requirements.
Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise on piping design-related matters.
Assist in the preparation of technical reports, proposals, diagrams and documentation as needed.
Liaise with clients, vendors, and contractors to address design issues and ensure project success.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineering staff as necessary.
Responsible for collecting and analysing data and carrying out complex computations
Assemble and install new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems
estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
Performing and directing field and laboratory tests
Inspection and maintenance of machines and plant
About You:
Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Engineering Drafting (preferred)
5 to 15 years of experience as a Pipe Design Engineer / Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson in the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical, Water, and Wastewater industries.
Proven track record of working for an engineering consultant company.
Proficiency in 3D modelling software such as AutoCAD 3D and Autodesk Plant 3D.
Strong understanding of piping design principles, codes, and standards
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
