Welder - First Class

Founder Enterprises Pty Ltd has a full-time position available for a Welder First Class, located in Narrabri NSW.

The applicant must have the relevant experience and must be capable of performing the following primary duties:

Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements;
Perform MIG, TIG, and other types of weld based on project needs;
Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements);
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded;
Align components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead);
Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps;
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws;
Perform welding from various departments with help of welding torches and arcs;
Monitor all welding processes and ensure the absence of any shrinkage and distortion to materials;
Manage welding work and ensure compliance to all specifications to perform defect work;
Ensure clean weld joint to obtain smooth look;
Operate various manual and automated welding equipment for welding work;
Analyse speed and length of welding arc for all welding process;
Ability to study and interpret assembly instructions, planning sequence of operations for fabricating and assembling metal products and components including heavy machinery;
Able to read and understand blueprints in order to complete the task at hand;
Positions parts and subassemblies;
Fabricate and assemble structural metal products, parts, components and equipment;
Resolve assembly and production issues, troubleshoot malfunctions, and perform repairs as needed;
Operating fabrication machines such as rolls, shears, flame cutters and other tools of the trade;
Work with computers;
Participate in product development;
Ability to keep up with new and innovative technologies;
Physically capable to work with heavy equipment and machinery
Good communication and interpersonal relation skills to perform all duties and negotiate positive outcomes with managers, other staff members, suppliers, and clients.
Comply with workplace health and safety policies;
Wear provided Person Protective Equipment whilst in the workshop area or as otherwise directed.
