We are a busy and well-established Emergency Centre looking for a dedicated nurse to join a friendly, experienced Emergency team in a state-of-the-art facility, providing high-quality emergency and critical care services to our community's beloved pets. 

Responsibilities:

  • Permanent Part-time role - Min. 20 hours per week
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill and injured animals in our emergency department
  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, surgeries, and treatments
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and administer medications as prescribed
  • Perform diagnostic tests such as bloodwork, X-rays, and ultrasounds
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their pet's condition and treatment plan
  • Collaborate with other members of the veterinary team to ensure the best possible patient outcomes

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a veterinary nurse, preferably in an emergency or critical care setting
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of veterinary medical procedures
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and empathetic towards both animals and their owners
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
