As an Auto Electrician, your responsibilities will include:
• Utilising specialised test equipment to accurately identify and diagnose electrical and electronic malfunctions within automotive systems.
• Skillfully dismantling and removing electrical and electronic assemblies and components from vehicles to facilitate repair or replacement.
• Proficiently installing a wide range of electrical equipment and electronic components within motor vehicles, ensuring proper functioning and integration with existing systems.
• Expertly connecting power-operated vehicle equipment and accessories to the electrical power supply, ensuring safety and compliance with specifications.
• Precisely adjusting engine control systems and timing mechanisms to optimise vehicle performance and efficiency.
• Conducting thorough testing procedures to identify and replace defective alternators, generators, voltage regulators, and starter motors, ensuring reliable operation.
• Skillfully repairing and replacing faulty ignition systems and electrical wiring, employing industry best practices to restore functionality and safety.
• Methodically replacing defective components such as fuses, lamps, and switches, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and quality standards to maintain vehicle integrity and reliability.
• Conducting diagnostic scans using diagnostic tools to analyse complex electrical and electronic systems, identifying related issues and recommending appropriate solutions.
• Designing and implementing custom electrical wiring harnesses and circuits for specialised vehicle modifications or aftermarket installations, ensuring compatibility and compliance with safety regulations.
• Providing technical guidance and support to other members of the automotive repair team, including mechanics and technicians, to assist with electrical system troubleshooting and repair.
Qualifications
• Must have more than five (5) years of experience in a similar setting.
• Must possess a relevant Trade Certificate.
• No second language required.
Salary
• 98,000 plus per annum
