Senior Consultant - CFO Advisory

The client
Our client provides Accounting, Taxation and CFO Advisory services to ultra-high-net-worth families, private businesses and large complex groups.
The business was founded by ex-Big staff and they deal with larger and more complex clients. So while they are a boutique business with a great culture, they also provide challenging work and lots of professional development and training.
The role
The role is responsible for providing support to the Partners and managers in the group in the delivery of client services and providing support, training and guidance to the Consultants in the group.
Functions/Tasks
Key areas of challenge and involvement include:
Assisting managers and Partners in providing services relating to our Outsourced CFO function including managing the day-to-day tasks on the engagement and facilitation of the monthly management reports
Supervising tax compliance and accounting engagements on various clients (including outsourced CFO work).
Complete tax compliance and accounting engagements for more complicated groups.
Being the primary point of contact for certain clients and managing several different engagements at once.
Assist in building client relationships, client administrative aspects, billing and controlling of Work In Progress, adhering to budget and deadline constraints.
Overseeing junior people in the team.
Maintain quality control on assignments and projects (about risk aspects, etc).
Take responsibility for developing contacts with target clients and supporting the marketing initiatives of the team (e.g. developing value, adding ideas, presentations, etc).
The Ideal candidate
The ideal candidate would have the following skills and experience.
They must be able to:
Complete month-end financial reporting.
Be able to identify relevant issues in the Outsourced CFO context, such as ratios, business performance, cash flow etc.
Must show a high level of demonstrated relevant tax technical ability and some experience in the private business/family group market.
Must be able to complete tax returns with little or no re-work. Assist manager with the review of tax returns and accounting engagements.
Competently identify relevant issues in a private business advisory context, such as private company loans and trust matters.
Develop a tax position on the issues based on knowledge and research that supports positions taken.
Use judgment to identify risk and apply appropriate quality controls and risk procedures to each transaction.
Leadership Effectiveness
Act as an on-the-job trainer to consultants and undergraduates.
Maintain self-development and mentor juniors in line with any relevant technical qualifications.
Deliver regular feedback to junior staff and upward feedback to managers/partners on engagement teams through the engagement period.
Participate in employee engagement activities; i.e. award nominations, team events, celebrate success.
Enhance employee retention and engagement.
Identify Business Development opportunities.
Build a profile with clients and markets. Generating
Service Excellence
Work with the engagement team to ensure deadlines are met.
Play an active role as a senior consultant on major firm clients. O
Assist in developing client relationships by assisting client manager.
Assist in ensuring communication to the client is adequately managed – being proactive.
