Smarter Choice Auto, a trusted automotive service provider for over 20 years in North Melbourne and surrounding suburbs, is seeking a highly skilled Motor Mechanic to join their dedicated team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in a wide range of vehicle makes and models, have a deep understanding of mechanical repairs, and possess hands-on experience in automotive maintenance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Detect and diagnose faults in motor vehicle engines and other components.
Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and more.
Repair or replace worn and defective parts, ensuring all mechanical components are reassembled according to service manuals.
Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
Ensure compliance with pollution regulations during maintenance services.
Conduct inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness before issuing certification.
Test and adjust mechanical parts after repairs to ensure proper functionality.
Perform tyre fitting and wheel balancing as part of regular maintenance.
Utilize a variety of equipment to clean and maintain motor vehicle engines.
Refer to service manuals as needed for accurate mechanical repairs.
REQUIREMENTS:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience in mechanical repairs and servicing.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various makes and models.
Strong mechanical knowledge with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
