As a Peer Worker in our Youth Enhanced Services (YES) team, you’ll be a guiding light and source of encouragement for young people on their path to recovery.
Drawing on your own lived experience with mental illness, substance dependence, or trauma, you will build genuine, empathetic relationships that foster connection and growth.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 peer support both onsite and through outreach
- Leading and facilitating engaging peer support groups
- Offering secondary consultation and education based on recovery principles
- Participating in monthly peer supervision and reflective practice to ensure alignment with best practices
You will be an essential member of our team, blending your lived experience with professional knowledge to inspire hope and help clients build their own paths to recovery.

About the program
EACH is the Lead Agency of the Therapeutic Alliance (TA), a consortium of community based, not-for-profit organizations who provide mental health services across the North Coast of NSW through a multidisciplinary, person centred, hub-and-spoke model of care.
The alliance offers a range of services under the Primary Mental Health Program (PMHP), including Healthy Minds, the Mental Health Nursing Incentive Program, Youth Enhanced Services (YES), Suicide Prevention, Counselling Support, and Low Intensity Mental Health programs.
About you
You’re a resilient individual with:
- Lived experience of mental illness, substance dependence, or trauma and a personal recovery journey
- Strong communication skills and the ability to form meaningful, empathetic relationships
- Experience in group facilitation and a commitment to promoting hope and optimism
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or Intentional Peer Support core training (highly desirable)
- A collaborative spirit, an inclusive approach, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries while sharing your personal insights
