Health & Safety Superintendent required for a mid-tier Gold Producer, FIFO, DIDO or Residential basis. As the Health and Safety Superintendent - WHS, you will directly report to the General Manager of the Mine and you will play a key role in achieving an enhanced safety focus as part of the organisation's proactive safety culture. Responsibilities include:
Lead and inspire a dynamic team of safety practitioners by promoting, demonstrating, and maintaining a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Ensure that effective safety governance measures, systems, practices, and processes are developed and implemented to facilitate best practice, legislative compliance, and the mitigation of corporate risks.
Provide professional, authoritative, and timely strategic advice to senior executives on a range of workplace safety initiatives, governance, and programs.
Lead the development and implementation of safety strategies and initiatives to achieve organisational objectives and high-level business outcomes.
Lead the identification and investigation of organisational safety operation issues and recommend change strategies for senior executives to drive business improvement and a proactive safety culture.
Ensure the delivery of accurate, timely and reliable reporting and analysis of workplace governance metrics and performance data.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will require:
Previous experience leading the delivery of safety initiatives across a mine site dispersed the workforce in Queensland.
A tertiary level qualification in Workplace Health & Safety
8 + years' experience in Health and Safety
5 + years' experience in Underground Mining
ICAM - Incident Lead Investigator Certification
Certificate IV Training & Assessment
Injury Management Experience (Essential)
Understanding and exposure to QLD Mining Legislation
Demonstrated experience in functional leadership, including strategic planning, project, and program management.
High standards of written and verbal communication.
Very good interpersonal skills
Demonstrated experience in a similar level role,
Ability to influence, coach and engage with all stakeholders
Good skills using Microsoft Office suite and experience using INX system
