Basin Sands Logistics are currently recruiting for experienced and qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join their service and maintenance department based in Murry Basin, Broken Hill NSW 2880.
The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:
- Maintain, test and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems and Hydraulic systems on vehicles, and other heavy plant machinery/equipment.
- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles, construction/plant equipment.
- Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts on vehicles, construction/plant equipment.
- Undertake inspections, assessments and maintenance on vehicles, construction equipment /plant equipment.
- Detect mechanical and electrical fault using industry standard instruments and equipment.
- Utilise OEM manual and procedures to perform repairs and maintenance to required standards.
- Record and report all repairs and maintenance activities on the established documentation and hand to Workshop Clerk on completion.
- Comply with all company safety and health programs.
Skills and Abilities
- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a qualified Diesel Mechanic
- A Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology /Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or relevant
- Experience in working in a remote location.
- Ability to workday and night shift
Salary range is $80,000 -$95,000 commensurate with experience.
Hours: fulltime - working 12-hour Day/night shifts, 14 days on 7 days off roster
