Our primary venue, Collegians Wollongong, features four distinct dining areas—Kitchen on Charlotte, Aunty Margs, Factory, and Much Ado About Coffee—each offering a unique culinary experience. Complementing these dining options is Bar67, a premier cocktail lounge known for its top-shelf spirits, live music, and luxurious ambiance.
We continue to support our local Rugby League teams, including juniors and seniors, and are deeply committed to our community through financial and in-kind support for schools, sporting teams, and charities.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
As a Chef at Collegians Rugby League Football Club, you will be an integral part of our culinary team, responsible for creating and delivering high-quality dishes across our diverse dining areas. You will have the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in various settings, from traditional bistro dining at Kitchen on Charlotte to fine dining at Factory, and gourmet burgers at Aunty Margs.
Your role will involve preparing and presenting a wide range of dishes, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation, and contributing to menu planning and innovation. You will also be responsible for maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety in the kitchen, training junior staff, and working collaboratively with the front-of-house team to provide an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes to the highest quality standards.
Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
Collaborate with the Head Chef and culinary team on menu planning and development.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive team culture.
Manage inventory, monitor stock levels, and place orders as needed.
Contribute to the smooth operation of the kitchen during service, ensuring timely delivery of dishes.
Assist in the creation and execution of special menus for events and functions.
REQUIREMENTS:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or a related culinary field.
2-3 years of experience working as a Chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
Experience in menu planning and development is highly desirable.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with front-of-house staff.
A passion for delivering high-quality food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
