The role:

As part of the Woolworths AFG Product Safety Practice - Operations FoodSafety Chapter (Home Team) this role will be responsible for working across WooliesX (delivery Team) to ensure the food we sell complies with food safety standardsand that we operate in a way which ensures food safety and quality.
Whilst providing SME support and guidance to the breadth of the WooliesXbusinesses - operationally the role will focus on the eCom and SupermarketsFulfillment Operations working with various internal stakeholders (e.g. FormatDevelopment including Design and Planning, W360, Internal Audit) and externalstakeholders (e.g. Regulators).
- Reporting to the Head of Food Safety - AFG Operations (Home) and Head of eComFulfilment & Operations (Delivery), your role will combine supporting eComoperations Food Safety Compliance with Project / Change Management of new foodsafety initiatives within the eComX operating environment.
- You will support the network of eCom fulfillment & operations (CFC, eStores,Supermarkets eCom, eCom Food, Woolies at Work & Homerun) working with varyinglevels of stakeholders to develop, refine and implement existing and new food safetyprocesses.
- Leveraging Home Team (AFG Product Safety Practice) expertise and resources toensure robust advice and consistency of direction being taken across AFG B2B &B2B businesses. Partnering with WooliesX Risk and Operational teams you willprovide the guidance, coaching and oversight to operational compliance, deliveringfood safety outcomes and driving food safety culture and behaviours within thebusiness, for which Leadership is key.
- Your demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, food science and operationalknowledge will support your stakeholder relationships and decision making.
As part of the AFG Operations Food Safety Leadership Team you will:
- Represent WooliesX in AFG Operations Food Safety strategic, planning and review forums
- Maintain skills through training in line with peer home team
- Working inline with Home Team processes to Investigate WooliesX based foodsafety customer complaints (Severity 1) and Regulator Findings (Sev 1 & 2) andsupport in root cause investigation and resolution
- Stay up to date with AFG initiatives, policy, procedure, assurance programs andregulatory changes that impact or benefit Woolies X business - ensuring that WooliesX businesses are leveraging and operating consistently within requirements
- Maintain regular reporting of key food safety and quality metrics in line with FoodSafety Plan controls monitoring (including Integrated Assurance results)
- Escalate trending or significant Woolies X food safety related issues to Head ofFood Safety Operations
- Ensure the right Product Safety Practice expertise are leveraged into projects /change management.
- Work with AFG Food Safety Plan lead to ensure the FSP and associatedprocedures, documents and controls are maintained to reflect process
- Provide food safety support to other ecosystem stakeholders as required
- Work with your peers to ensure E2E consistency of approach, minimise doubling upof efforts and elimination of gaps - particularly in relation to Supers eCom fulfilment
- Share learnings and insights with peers
Delivering into Woolies X (working with Operations and Risk Teams) you will:
- Conduct eCom operations food safety reviews and risk assessments for CFC, MFC,online Supermarket operations - leveraging third party or broader support from yourHome Team as required to balance capacity
- Working with project leads and operations teams to develop procedures to ensureprocesses meet Food Safety Requirements - ensuring where possible consistency ismaintained across AFG
- Coach and train eCom operations teams and management teams on food safetyrelated policy and procedures, including but not limited to Cold Chain Management,NMI, pest control, cleaning and hygiene.
- Support WooliesX operations and risk teams to develop improvement action plansbased on food safety related data and insights (including CSA, IA and CustomerFeedback)
- Support eCom operations teams to close out corrective actions from CSA’s, eCom /store reviews, food safety audits, and regulator visits
- Working with the PWRM team follow up on Recall and Withdrawal outstandingactions and any corrective actions required as a result of monitoring effectivenessacross Woolies X
- Support with regulatory inspections by working with eCom sites to find resolutionand lead liaison with the regulator queries and reports. Maintain relationship withlocal council regulators for eCom locations
- Provide SME support to the CSA Program including development of questions toassess key food safety controls and WGLL Guidance
- Provide SME Support to Woolies X Promapp Owners
- Regularly undertake food safety operations visits across the eCom store network
(focus on MFC stores)
- Maintain a relationship with the Operations Leadership Teams and Group Managersacross your eCom operations network.
- Support eCom operations during building or renewal phase with regard to foodsafety related facility design approval / operations processes / compliance
- Escalate trending or significant food safety related issues to Woolies X LeadershipTeams (including Risk Forum)
- Be actively involved with new initiatives - Provide support and advice for food safetyrelated POC trials prior to and during implementation (linkage back to Home teamwhere required to leverage broader food safety skills as needed)
- Liaise with Food Academy on eCom operation and support office operational foodsafety training (content and frequency of training.
