Hamilton Island is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to work with their Department Heads/Senior Managers within an allocated division on operational advisory, reporting and consultancy support in relation to the employee’s lifecycle. The partner is also responsible for monitoring the time and attendance data in Workforce/Kronos and ensuring compliance with the Modern Awards and National Employment Standards (NES).

Your Role
This is a full time permanent, live on island position. In your role, you will:
• Partner with managers on all aspects of the employee’s lifecycle including (but not limited to) coaching and mentoring, performance management, organisation design, position design and descriptions, remuneration and reward, and talent development.
• Work closely with Recruitment on talent sourcing incl. interviewing and testing of applicants for senior positions and internal succession planning.
• In partnership with Learning and Development coordinate training and development requirements.
• Management of any Industrial Relations matters for the division/s such as Award interpretation, policies and legislation interpretation and implementation.
• Maintain an intimate knowledge of Modern Awards, Agreements, company policies and statutory requirements to ensure business compliance and identify anomalies and change requirements.
• Monitor, process and audit schedules and timecards in Workforce Dimensions whilst ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Responsible for monitoring the staffing matrix and workforce planning in-line with budget and operational demand.
• Partner with PC&D teams, Payroll, Staff Accommodation, Uniforms, and IT teams to ensure smooth processes and continuous improvement during the employee lifecycle.
• Provide guidance, advice, and facilitation support for a range of business change initiatives that promote employee engagement.
• Analyse data, monitor, influence, develop and execute strategies that will drive business transformation to enhance business practices, increase productivity and reduce workforce cost.
• Maintain employee records and HR systems including Chris21 and Workforce Dimensions.
• Develop and forge strong relationships with the Department Heads/Senior Manager and all relevant stakeholders.
• Undertake duties as required and agreed upon by the Human Resources Director or Group Human Resources Director.

About You
• Formal qualifications in Human Resource Management or related discipline (Essential)
• 3-5 years’ experience in Human Resources or similar (Essential)
• Effectively partnered with diverse employee group/s (Essential)
• Experience using Workforce Dimensions (Time and Attendance), Chris21 (Payroll) or other systems (Desired)
• Strong communication skills and a proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects
• Demonstrated track record in gaining and sustaining relationships as a trusted advisor
• Ability to communicate and influence managers
• Intermediate Microsoft skills
• Customer and solutions service focus
• Demonstrates confidentiality
