A Regional Council is offering an exciting opportunity for a diligent and motivated individual to work as a Mechanic. The successful applicant will oversee workshop operations, handle technical and practical diesel fitting, manage mechanics for heavy plant/vehicles, petrol engines, and small engines. This position provides the chance to work with a diverse range of equipment that supports the Council's work on behalf of the community.
Your new role
Supervise day to day operations of the workshop
Assisting the council; with plant procurement matters
Assist with plant operator training and maintenance
Order parts as required and develop a 6 monthly plant inspection program
Assist the water officers in repair and maintenance of pumps and other equipment
What you'll need to succeed
Must hold a Certificate 3 in Mobile Plant technology or Heavy commercial vehicle mechanical or similar
Minimum 3 years post trade (petrol, auto-electrical, air conditioning and hydraulic experience is an advantage)
Must hold a QLD Driver's licence and HR licence
Must have a QLD construction card
Supervisory experience is a must
Forklift licence desirable but not compulsory

If you are selected for this role, you'll be moving to a quaint rural town in Queensland to oversee a small workshop. The package includes relocation support, accommodation for the initial 3 months of your contract, and reduced rent thereafter. Additionally, you'll receive 5 weeks of annual leave, 15 days personal leave with a 17.5% loading, 12% superannuation, a locality allowance, a tool allowance, and a work car for business purposes.
