My Australia Direct The purpose of this position is to provide a full range of Hand Therapy services to clients of the practice. This includes examination and treatment to rehabilitate and improve people with upper extremity disorders through evidence-based or best-practice methods. The quality of the overall client experience relies heavily on this position due to its service focus. The outcomes delivered will impact whether clients choose to return to the practice and thus are an important aspect of the business.  Benefits This is a full-time position with annual remuneration between $80,000 - $105,000 plus superannuation depending on experience. Task & Responsibilities To assess, diagnosis & manage a clinical case load of upper limb conditions to a high level of clinical effectiveness utilising current evidence-based practice. To use appropriate methods of communication with patients to maximize clinical outcomes in a respectful & professional manner. Examination and treatment to rehabilitate and improve people with upper extremity disorders. To keep accurate and up-to-date patient records, & produce reports & documentations in line with NSHT, professional & legal standards. To assist, liaise & communicate effectively and collaboratively with hand therapy colleagues, NSHT management, referrers (in particular those from Sydney Hand Surgery Associates) & the personnel from third party/insurer organisations. To demonstrate effective time management & organisational skills relating to your own workload & to be able to adapt to any unpredictable work patterns as they arise. This includes assisting with other therapists’ caseloads, with administrative tasks, & with contributing to the day-to-day service provided by NSHT as required. To actively participate in & contribute to the ongoing process of improving/updating clinical skills & NSHT service delivery as required. To be responsible for maintaining current Professional Registrations, & complying with all mandatory ongoing professional development, professional codes of conduct & safety requirements. Qualification & Experience Currency of registration with AHPRA. Degree qualified in physiotherapy or occupational therapy or health sciences with a physiotherapy/occupational therapy course. Strong commitment to high profession standards. Demonstrated empathy for the needs of patients. Excellent communication skills. Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
